Meet Our Chief Executive Officer/ Funder

Jallah Kennedy, Ph.D.

Dr. Kennedy is a Liberian American epidemiologist, registered nurse, and research scientist with over 29 years of experience in public health, clinical research, community advocacy, teaching, and mentoring. He has dedicated his career to global health program development through Roads To Health, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on research, training and mentoring, community health, infectious diseases, maternal child health, surveillance and emergency preparedness, water, sanitation, and hygiene, data analytics, as well as nutrition and food security programs.

These initiatives span across Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Cote D’Ivoire, and Bangladesh, targeting rural, hard-to-reach, and other vulnerable populations. Dr. Kennedy holds a doctorate and master’s in epidemiology, a bachelor’s in biology and chemistry, and a registered nursing diploma. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty of public health at the Rochester Institute of Technology, a professor at the Free Pentecostal University in Liberia specializing in research and evidence-based practice, and an adjunct faculty at the United Methodist University in Liberia, contributing to the development of mental and nutritional public health research. In addition, Dr. Kennedy holds the position of a data analyst/epidemiologist at the Washington DC Department of Health.

He is also a Scientific Officer for the Partnership for Research on Vaccines and Infectious Diseases in Liberia, a National Institute of Health clinical research project, and coordinates the development of PhD programs in public health and biomedical sciences at the University of Liberia.

As a consultant with the World Health Organization, Dr. Kennedy played a pivotal role in leading Epi-surveillance data/analytics for the COVID-19 response at the Ministry of Health and National Public Health Institute of Liberia.

His passion for service is based on a personal story of an improvised and neglected childhood in rural Liberia. Dr. Kennedy aims to use his harsh past experiences as an inspiration to help others, especially for advocacy, and reduce ongoing poor health outcomes affecting rural, vulnerable, pregnant women, and children in Africa.
